
Ken Titchen was admitted as a solicitor in 1993 and joined the
firm's Restructuring & Insolvency Department in 2005. He was
previously at a national law firm where Ken gained substantial
experience in all aspects of restructuring/turnaround, insolvency,
recovery, and business support operating in a wide range of business
sectors.
Ken
regularly deals with non-contentious and contentious insolvency issues
relating to both companies and individuals in financial difficulty, and
whether arising before or after formal insolvency procedures commence.
Clients include insolvency practitioners, lenders, boards of directors,
interim/turnaround managers, debtors and creditors. Ken has particular
experience of advising on assignments for asset based lenders, and in
recovering debts in the leisure/brewing industry. He has also advised
pension scheme trustees and companies in relation to deficits on final
salary pension schemes and the 'moral hazard' provisions of the Pensions
Act 2004.
Recent
significant matters include successfully restructuring solicitors
practices using a PVA; the rescue (in and out of administration) of
businesses in the retail, technology, film and financial services
sectors; the appointment of fixed charge receivers as an alternative to
administration; a hotly contested application for an administration
order involving competing proposed office holders; advising in relation
to a trust in receivership in the UK and Chapter 11 in the USA.
Ken
combines his legal and commercial knowledge and experience to provide
proactive support and effective solutions for his clients at all times.
Ken is
a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and a member of R3, TMA and INSOL
Europe. He has written a number of articles on insolvency related
topics and enjoys presenting regularly on R3 courses. In October he
will be speaking at the INSOL Europe Annual Congress in Stockholm.
Ken enjoys travelling and
recent destinations include Cambodia, Ghana, and Central America.
