Emma Shipp qualified as a Solicitor and joined the firm’s Company & Commercial department in 1990. She became a partner in January 1993 and is now the managing partner of the firm.
Building on her experience of industry acquired within the legal department of a leading UK corporation, she developed a strong sense of commercial strategy, which she has, throughout the years, combined with her in depth experience of a broad range of corporate and commercial transactions.
Emma deals with acquisitions and disposals of companies, businesses and assets and all related issues including transfer of undertakings and employee relations, pension rights preservation, Data Protection Act compliance and documenting funding arrangements. Her aim in all deals - whether large or small - is to implement the client’s commercial objectives by the most efficient means possible.
She also has experience of a wide range of commercial agreements including security documentation, partnership deeds, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, terms of business, franchising agreements, agency and distribution agreements, guarantees, powers of attorney, insolvency related agreements and all forms of company secretarial documents.
