Paul Clements

Paul is a commercial litigation lawyer, with over 30 years’ experience in a wide range of corporate, contract,  insurance, banking, fraud, asset collection, professional negligence and other disputes.

His practice is very international in nature and Paul has extensive contacts throughout the world, including a large number of Attorneys in the USA.  Much of his practice relates to disputes with cross-border elements and he is well-versed in the areas of enforcement of foreign judgments in England and the organisation of complex legal issues involving claims in more than one jurisdiction.

A large part of Paul’s practice has concerned a number of high profile, international insolvencies; he has had involvement in the Stanford and Lehman’s cases, acting for groups of investor creditors. In the Dowdell/Dobb White case, Paul acted as the English solicitor for the American Receiver appointed by the Securities and Exchange Commission and drafted the first example of an international Cooperation Agreement between a US Receiver and an English Liquidator, which document was approved by both the High Court in London and the Virginian District Court and under which Paul assisted in the collection of assets hidden under a Ponzi scheme in a number of countries.
